Our 2019 Cloud Forum with Cisco Meraki was held yesterday in the Hodson Bay Hotel in Athlone, Co. Westmeath. The room we were given to hold this event
was perfect. It was spacious, bright and clean with plenty of lovely furniture to sit with a coffee and mingle with others on. We had everything we
needed set up from the night before, so when we arrived the next morning we were able to network and chat with everyone who had made their way. Oh,
and we can't forget the lovely breakfast rolls along with tea and coffee for everyone, all thanks to the lovely staff.

- don't forget to connect with us either!
In the middle of the room, just behind the audience, we had a table organised that supported some of the Cisco Meraki products that we would talk about
on the day. These included switches, security cameras, cloud managed access points etc.
As we kicked things off, there was a great buzz around the room. Richard Holbrook, sales director at Sord, was the first up to present. Alongside Richard,
there was Gary Daly who is the regional sales manager in Ireland and Scotland for Cisco Meraki. Between Richard and Gary, attendees had been informed
about the products and services provided by Meraki. They both went into detail on Meraki offerings such as cloud managed Wi-Fi, Wireless APs, Switches,
A large touchscreen allowed Richard and Gary to show the audience how to use the Meraki software, such as the dashboard which allows you to control all
of your connected devices in the one location. Being able to see how the software works amplified it's simplicity. Meraki puts intuitive yet powerful
tools in the hands of network administrators, which allows them to simplify their day-to-day operations.
We also had guest speakers David Owens and Fergal Kavanagh from Everyangle who specialise in Meraki smart security cameras. They dived deep into how powerful
the small and slick cameras are, outlining some impressive features like motion heatmaps and motion detection. The MV family of smart cameras gives
your business security, but also valuable insights for companies of any scale. They also touched on GDPR regulations surrounding these cameras and
the data they can hold.
We were also joined by Brendan O'Brien and David Ryan from Think Smarter Analytics. Their company provides advanced footfall analytics from Wi-Fi and IoT
sensors that provide insights required to create positive customer experiences, improve operations and drive key business decisions. Their platform
has proven to be very useful in multiple industries as well as helping to connect cities.
The day was finished with lunch which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone after an insightful day in Athlone. We would like to thank everyone who came to
our Cloud Forum and we hope that our attendees have benefitted from it.
Until the next time!
Sord Data Systems.
